Introduction to sai gon
Built in 1744, Giac Lam Pagoda is the oldest remaining pagoda in the city. Of particular note is the fine art of southern Buddhist style architecture.
This architectural style features pleasant ambiance, dark interiors, meticulous sculptures with subtle themes.
The Giac Lam Pagoda contains hundreds of precious statues of Buddha Bodhisattva and Arhat, some over 200-years old. Other features include delicately engraved pillars and gilded descriptions in old Vietnamese characters.
The Giac Lam Pagoda is at 118 Lac Long Quan Street, Tan Binh District.
