That what I did for the laptop HD and standalone HD. Dismantle and took out the hard disk and hammer to break.

if the video or pic is already stored in the hand phone, even we delete them.. it is still there n someone may know the know-how to retrieve the video n pic, so DO NOT trade in the phone. At least if for me, I wont trade in at all. If really dun wan the hp, use a HAMMER to hammer the hp to pieces.
