I road 3/2 from the roundabout of cmt8 to MP, and 100% there is NO CAFE OM and that stretch of the road is what officially defined as q10 based on street signage..now if TS and d2 wants to unilaterally call each district by another name please preface that before they make posts so we know its a case of "the world according to h88 and D2"

Hcm trip 6-11 sep: I found the relocated airport joint. 800k 1 shot 1.5 mil overnight. Girls looks not bad. Q10 got 1 hot toc provides hot and cold bbbj as part of their standard service. just back from six day trip bonking fb. stayed at the Luxe hotel near the central market in district 1. the agoda rate was good at$40 a night for their top of the range rooms. its girl friendly and the central location makes it a worth while place to bunk in with your mate. walk to market for beef noodles and broken rice is 50 mtrs away.

Club Q7: 4 pax, 2 bottles for 4,200,000 dong (exclude tips). Sit on sofa area, only 1 manager to our sofa, nice music and good dancing crowd, many eyes contact with local gals and they will dance with you as well, enjoyed this place.....

Spend 2 stone massage (clean massage) on 2 days, 1.5hr -350,000 dong per pax. Good experience and good massage.

Spend a day at Saigon Monkey Island (CAn Gio). Morning to noon at the beach, swimming and eating seafood. Afternoon visited the monkeys park.

Don't know if it works the same way in Vietnam or not, but in China, lots of these so-called managers are nothing more than professional drinkers whose only job is to bump up the consumption bill from which they get a commission.

I thought that it's not government policy but actual laws against all prostitution and thus 4 and 5 star hotels will just NOT allow any lady visitors to the rooms after a certain hour in the evening.

you are half right and he is totally wrong...all hotels are not supposed to allow unmarried couple into hotels regardless of ratings...only those 1-3 stars closed one eyes and dun report to the authorities...:)

after 9pm those 4-5 stars hotels will not allow any guest who are not married to the patron to be in the same room...guest must leave by 9pm becos all guests are registered and ID deposited to the reception counter ...:)

no such thing as lady fine in any hotels...all the bribe to bell boy or hotel staff are personal arrangements and not reported...:)

Third I compare price and location.

The review in Agoda is pretty accurate base on hotel I book in HCMC, DaNang, Hoi An, Hui, Can Tho, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand.

Location you choose is important, you should choose base on what you want to achieve in HCM.

if you are willing to spend $$$ on luxury hotel then you can get a good 3 star hotel which is gal friendly and order a top range suite...still cheaper and you enjoy more...:)

already said no such thing as lady fine in Vietnam...what you booked might be a special price room using agoda for 1 person...if you want to check in 2 person then you need to pay additional...next time make sure you book hotel for 2 person even using agoda...we experienced that in Hue City...so the hotel dun allow the gal to stay overnight becos we paid special price for 1 person...we need to pay additional charges if gal will to stay overnight...:)

when we booked hotel in Can Tho same thing...room for 2 person and 1 person varies a bit...:)

From the above list of hotels, I would like to share with all some of my complaints:

a) Signature Saigon Hotel - Walls are wafer thin. I'm always woken up by the cleaners chatting along the corridor in the morning.

b) La Jolie Hotel - Hot water during shower is not always available. It is very difficult to control the water temperature during shower. Breakfast is fantastic though.

c) Tan Hai Long 3 Hotel - Receptionists are not honest. Plenty mosquitos at breakfast area. But hotel is next to Bitexco Financial Centre and 5 minutes walk to my favourite Mee Satay stall.

d) Silverland Hotel & Spa - They used 2 small beds to combine into a huge bed. Not comfortable for cuddling with your partner. Breakfast is fantastic though.

e) Lien An Hotel - Bathroom is small and it serves the worst breakfast.

f) King Star Central Hotel - Breakfast is terrible and room can get noisy at night.

Samsters would notice that all the hotels which I have listed are located in D1.
My apologies to samsters looking for hotels in other districts, as I rarely venture out of D1.

in general...all non girl friendly hotels will apply this rule...

- any girl will have to deposit her ID at the reception counter
- if not legally married, the girl can only be in your room from 7am to 9pm
- after 9pm the reception will keep calling your room to inform you to get your girl out telling you nicely the girl cannot stay (after 30 mins they will knock on your room to ensure girl leave)
- all hotels will have to lodge with local district police the guest list by 11pm daily

in fact if you own or rent an apartment/house...owner has to lodge with the local district police the list of occupants in apartment/house...only short term visit less than 1 week do not need to lodge with local district police...:)

above is just what I had learned...anyone have anything to add or comment...please do so...:)

My experience a few years ago is probably a rare exception - but at around midnight, I had "ordered up" on the phone a girl highly recommended by her "sister" who was working in a Macau sauna.

I was staying at a 5-star D1 hotel in HCMC and she arrived within 15 minutes; She told me that many girls know the ways and the people at the hotel who would accommodate ways around the restrictions you outlined.

Was probably NOT the best decision in my life, as I could have easily opened myself to problems (LE action, blackmail/extortion etc??), but just wanted to respond to your invitation for comments.

LOL - IMHO not that onerous in HCMC and non-girl-friendly hotels are usually limited to the 4 star and above ones; lower grade hotels usually no problems.

Why don't you nicely introduce yourself to Hurricane88 who's a font of Vietnam wisdom or even engage the services of mutantchicken if you want to enjoy yourself whilst in HCMC. Just a suggestion.

To celebrate my 16 months in HCM; I when back to the first Bia Om I visited back in June 2013.

Went to Vietnam last weekend for 5 days trip with my wife..Overall i am satisfied and enjoyed myself over there..Went to only Hanoi and Halong Bay only..nvr go to Ho Chi Min City..only 5 days nia..lol..managed to saw f alot of vietnam BUZ there..all along the night mkt streets..hair saloon..all the shops assistants..road side sellers and also on the streets!! Chio buz riding bikes is damn awesome sia..where u cant see on Sg roads (v rare la)..Some more they wore dress their wrkin attire and ride on bikes..wow..i also tried their famous Bun cha..their local noddles(Fer), Egg Coffee too..but too bad i cant eat Beef..Sigh..and also went to watch their water puppets at the theatre..Just walkin dist from my hotel..Went to their pagodas..also went 2days 1night at halong bay at junk ship..Went to the caves too..Wow gd scenery where u cant c at Sg..Lol..really enjoyed!

Making a short trip to HCM for 3 days to relax and get away for a short break. This is also my first trip here for holiday and not for work.

Day 1
Arrived yesterday via Tiger and landed around 16:40. Raining heavily with lightning and thunder while turbulence in the flight during final approach.

Change some money at the airport with the best rate there out of the 4/5 changers at 1SGD to 16,979VND. Not fantastic as compared with black market but decent rates for me. Check my vinnaphone (turn left after exit from custom at the last shop) sim card still have 400,000 over credit since my last top up.

Took a taxi to my hotel near the airport and reach within 15 mins for 50,000VND. Decent hotel clean, spacious with fast wifi and breakfast included + girl friendly as confirmed with the receptionist if you will like to bring the girl back.

Meet up with bro MC around 7:30pm after my mistake in unable to get to the destinated cafe. Ended up he has to come and fetch me in the rain while going up and down the streets to find me. Felt really bad as it is still raining and we went straight for dinner. Thanks for all the bros that PM'ed me. Managed to meet up 2 Bros from SBF who are also travelling solo there. Below is just sharing of my experience.
