Sharing my exp here while during my trip to Kyushu.

It really depends on which soapie you visit and what course you choose.How do you define "high quality". I'll just give my two cents and a bit of experience which should help you on your way.

1) Do your research before going, there is a lot of information on google.
2) know your budget. That said, I think anyone on the internet is talking about the proper soapy experience. With that said, don't cheap out at the last minute, if you are going to spend $900, pay the extra go to the top tier. 90K Yen.
3) If you think Dome 1 FLs have inaccurate pictures be prepared to be wowed by the inaccuracy levels of the individual soapy websites. Hence why I said, pay extra, the 90k domes have actual Jap models working the floor.
I went to Emblem (75k), and I think i could have pulled a girl at random off the street and they would have been hotter.
4) You might check their schedule and have a girl in mind, but know that if you really want that girl, you have to book in advance. Because she might not be available when you turn up.
5) You can get to Yoshiwara area and walk around, there are probably at least a hundred soapies in the area. If you have multiple stables in mind and you want to punt the 70K + stables first start of with the cheapest and work your way up. You can always walk in, ask to see the pictures and then leave if nothing tickles your fancy. The touts are all quite friendly and approachable actually, and most can speak some English.

Before my trip i did alot of research and got to know about Tobita Shinchi in Osaka and from more and more digs about soaplands(in call) and delivery healths(out call). There are not many shops that deal with non japanese speakers. But there was one particular soapland #1(paradise) which had many reviews by a particular website, and the shop's website provided many photos, there is no "foreigner fee" and they do FJ. So i thought to book a hotel near by.

Ways to avoid paying foreigner tax is either (1) you can speak japanese, or (2) japanese friend bring you over - but this depends.

Maybe you can look for certain provider which doesnt charge such fee.

After which I was directed to another waiting area for another 10 mins and guided to the stairs where she stood waiting. Actually this might be hit or miss.

Some of the high-end soaps especially in Yoshiwara are expensive for the 'no-skin'/bareback option. Chose the one who looked slimmer to me and paid JPY 28,000 for 90min session. Of coz, I have explained to the staff that I have been to several Soapland before and know the "system" (rules and procedures) very well.

Spoke to the lady in Japanese throughout the session. She is a native Japanese who has previously dated a bf from Taiwan and as such can accept half like me. Shall not describe the details but I enjoyed my full course (FJ is to be expected for Soapland) with her.

I work for a Japanese company where I was given free Japanese language lesson, so far learning up until the past tense part(shimasu, shimashita etc). Pass my first test recently and earn myself a beginner certificate.

I would say for soaps generally avoid saying you are from China...if they ask just say you are Singaporean/Malaysian.

In terms of language, I find that even with JLPT N1 and living in Japan for a few years the reception/tout can still deduce whether you are gaijin or not. Basic lessons simply don't cut it as a lot of keigo is generally needed. This automatically rules out a lot of soaps in Japan. And even if you get in there is less choice for us gaijins.

I would say the best bet would be to go with your Japanese colleagues (male, preferably :) ) or better still with a regular of the scene there.

Also, soap is super expensive in Japan and I would say there is not much value in the lower-tiered ones except for the thrill of bonking a Jap chick. But there are decent options like Darling Harbour and Naniwa which offer great value should one be inclined to look for it (google is your friend).

Some of their staff of these shops will just simply say "no foreigner" before actually asking when am I from. Unless u can speak Japanese fluently and decently, most of them will just say "no foreigner".

To give u a rough gauge, are u able to understand their local news broadcast or tv drama without referring to the translations and understand at least 30% of the contents? If u can, u should be able to converse quite reasonable in a slow to normal pace. Ability to read and understand Japanese text is very different from holding a decent conversations in Japanese. Their normal speed in conversing in Japnese is like us speaking Singlish in local slang and fast speed.

And there are always local and informal words which the local Japanese used in their daily conversations but never official teach. If u can speak and sound like their local yakuza, u definitely can pass man. Haha.

FYI, everyday I read and reply emails in Japanese to my counterparts in Japan. I also attend teleconferences and video conferences in Japanese at least bi-weekly with my Japanese counterparts whereby all the participants are almost if not all are native Japanese. Having say this, my Japanese language is still not good enuf to be considered "local".

Hey man, what kind of services are u expecting for SG$50 to $100? Even in Geylang fk-and-go shops, the cheapest is already SG$50 for Thai lady.

Hello ナカダシ様, I agree with you on the above. When any of your Japanese male colleagues / friends come to SG for business / holidays, always "volunteer" to bring them and tour our Geylang district. 9 out of 10 of them will definitely be ham sup enuf to want to try at such "cheap" pricing.

When u go over to Japan, make sure u contact them up and ask them bring u around. It is in their blood and culture that they die die must return the personal favour and bring u to tour their red light districts. Once u reach the place, just show them a "disappointing" look and they will help u get pass the front door in some way or another even if they have to beg their own friends for help and recommendations.

This is their weakest point. "Exploit" it. Haha!! :D
